I just purchased a GM 14099090M long block to replace my 14099090, the rear main seal housing 12555768 pulled from 14099090 is too small and can't fit in. I am have difficulty to find the correct part # for 14099090M, most listing just post model of vehicle and can't confirm the block number.

Does anyone have a 14099090M can look up your part?

Appreciate

Seems the following information from a different boating forum website will help find your solution better for a part’s catalog as the photos show both a Mercruiser engine serial number and your block number ending in M which means metric…. If you haven’t, search the 14099090M number itself online and study the differences between the non M model as AI breaks it down pretty good now…

In which the following would be a part catalog for that engine model… look at the photos and see if yours appears similar…

Also the following should be another source for a parts guide for the metric engine model to wear page 5ish shows the parts in question too,

And this, https://www.marineengine.com/parts/mercury_marine_parts/sn/0M069136/4211015N1/2694_210

I noticed the crankshaft flange has a SS sleeve on it, thats why the rear seal housing can not pass through.

The long blocked was manufactured from Mabbco, is that sleeve a normal thing?

Probably a salvage sleeve...let's one reused the crankshaft if the seal surface is worn and the crank is good otherwise..

I end up use sand paper to sand a little bit of that 3 triangle points on the rear seal housing. Hopefully that won't effect the seal position
