I recently replaced the solenoid and discovered one of the two white wires coming out of the wiring harness was connected to the solenoid. The other was not connected at all not sure where it goes. Haven’t been able to find a wiring schematic that shows it. I’m not sure if this is the problem with not getting spark, but the motor turns over no spark.

The white wire has to do with a safety switch.-----That prevents cranking if throttle is open too far.----White wire has nothing to do with spark.---First see if you get spark out of the coil.---Remove flywheel.----Inspect anti reversing spring.----Clean and set the points at 0.010"-----Clean all surfaces on rotor / distributor cap.----Caution---plug wires screw into the distributor cap.
