Hello all,
Good forum, been a great resource. 1st post - could use some recommendations. Recently bought an '06 Bennington 2875 RLX with a 350 MAG (OW620239) / Bravo 3 . I'm going through the boat and am in the process of replacing the shift cable. With the engine in the center toon things are very tight (putting it mildy). When removing the old cable I fished a piece of weed wacker line through it to feed in the new cable sheath - which worked great to get the sheath in, until I realized I was an idiot because the cable itself has an approx 3=4 inch long straight wire on it where it mounts at the engine so passing it through the sheath (makes a hard right turn behind the engine) ain't gonna happen. Before I yank the shift cable sheath back out thought I'd check if there are any recommendations on the best approach to getting this installed. Cable sheath is still in. Thought about trying to straighten the cable inside the boat but not clear how much that will help given it has to make a hard right immediately after passing through the transom. Any recommendations are much appreciated
