fuel mix on 1988 30hp evinrude

i just bought 1988 evinrude 30hp with shortshaft but i just noticed label on motor say 100:1
so i never seen before i usally use 50:1 8 oz oil for 6 gal but 88 30hp i should use 100:1?? that will be 16 oz for 6 gal!

4oz for 100:1 it's less oil 16oz 25:1
I would stick with 50:1 for most engines extra oil worst case may foul spark plug
Not enough oil could seize or damage engine or lower the life of the engine

Not to jack this thread, but, just bought an 82 25hp and the guy said he used amsoil at 100:1. Is the ratio determined by manufacturer or product type?

Running an outboard at 100:1 is a blunder or a mistake.-------------Factory bulletin came out and said run at 50:1 and never mind the fancy 100:1 oils.---I would never trust a fancy label on any product that says run at 100:1 !!!!

Any oil marked ----TCW-3----------will meet the specifications ----Mix at 50:1

I mixed my gasoline for the E30ECCE EVENRUDE at 50/1 and unburned oil ran out of the exhaust and the smoke was unreal so I'm going to take a chance and go to 100/1 mixture.

Run at 50:1 on that motor!!----Correct the issue that is causing the oil leak and excessive smoke.----Possibly a ruptured diaphragm in fuel pump.---Float valve issue.----Or lever on electric primer in wrong position.
