1973 mercury 402. Electric start conversion?

I recently acquired a 1973 mercury 402 40hp. It’s a pull start and from what I understand they made the same model in what they call a 402E and a 402EL
Was wondering if there’s a kit out there that will convert it over to electric start, or if I’m just stuck with a sore arm haha.

I don't know in particular, but there's a good chance as long as it has the mounting holes for the starter assembly and the gear teeth on the flywheel, you should be able to just drop in the electric starter and wire it in.

You'll need the engine serial number for accurate part searches, subtle changes were made to that engine through the years. it became a 35 Hp in 1984, basically just rebadged when horsepower measurement was taken at the prop shaft instead of the powerhead.

I have the serial number it’s 4364673. But isn’t that just going to bring up pull start parts? I’m trying to convert it to electric start.
