96 3.0 OMC SWAP

Got a 3.0 that needs a full motor replacement. Dropped a valve and put a hole in the piston. These are hard to come by from searching!

Is this a motor that can be easily swapped with another brand 3.0? If so is there a kit we need?

Any idea on year range/cut off year/what years would work? Or any other ideas on replacing?

We are new to the marine world. Go easy in us!!

Ayuh,..... OMC, Merc, 'n Volvo all use the same GM 3.0l long block,.....
You'll need one newer than 1990,....

And in ‘96 OMC was in a joint venture with Volvo Penta so if you find a V/P rigged one it should be identical to yours.
