I have a 1965 outboard evinrude with electric shift. Not sure what is used to connect the steering cable to the motor. In the pic is what I have. The motor turns and the cable works well. I could probably find something to bolt the two together. But would rather find what I am missing.

What steering is on your boat now ?-----Orange line up top.----Boat parts.----Evinrude----Accessories-----1972-----Steering.----There you will find what you need.

It used to be no tools required back in the day.-----The electric shift is very good and reliable.-----If you just bought this motor then do a complete evaluation before spending any beer tokens on it.

I posted a picture of what I had. Not sure if an admins has to approve it or not.

oh ya this bad boy is top notch. Hahah. I bought it dead. Had three small issues. All good now. Also added new points and condensers. Because why not. Starts and runs no issue in a barrel. Just need some steering before taking it out to see if it floats.

There are several ways to hook it up.-----But you will find one way following instructions in post #4----The bracket is listed there.
