First post and asking for help?

Another boat

New member
Hello all
I realize an introduction is appropriate but I also am seeking some help.
I purchased a 1993 Bluewater aluminum fishing boat. She’s mechanically sound but she ain’t too pretty. Loving it as it’s the first boat I’ve owned that I simply don’t care about getting scratched dirty or beached. So comforting to know!! Lol.
Anyway. The side mount throttle control has the little throttle only button missing the cap. Can’t find a part replacement. Anyone suggest a fix other than total control replacement? I’m considering a bottle cap as my fix ha ha.

Well, here's the thing. If you NEED to warm up the engine without putting the drive in gear then yeh you'll want to find a replacement. If you don't, you don't. Sadly, controls are one of those things they don't sell individual parts for unless it's a higher-end one like Morse or Kobelt. I guess you're on your own on this. A new control is gonna be $500 so you decide if it's worth it.

Thanks for your quick reply! My 4.3 i/o is an older carburetor version so she’s a bit cold blooded. Needs a few minutes to wake her up. I don’t think I’m ready to spend the $ right now so I’ll rig up something fun to press the button in. Thanks!
