Bayliner 185 with mercruiser 3.0 No crank

Hi - just new to the forum. I have a 2005 Bayliner 185BR with a mercruiser 3.0 motor. I was trying to troubleshoot my trim gauge by shorting the sender. Now I have nothing at the key. No alarm at accessory position and no crank. Just silence. I thought I might have blown the 90amp fuse, but I can't find it on the starter solenoid. Not sure if it has one. The 50amp seems to have continuity if I check it with a meter. So I'm stumped. Any ideas for next steps?

Thank you

Do you see battery voltage at the CB? If not clean and check the battery cable connections on battery and block. Locate the slave solenoid, Has a Yellow/Red and Red /Purple wires. jump the 2 large posts, motor should spin. If not ,you haver no/poor battery connection

Thanks again for your help... I have installed a new marine battery. I have voltage in and out of the 50amp breaker, voltage at the starter solenoid, but nothing at the ignition key. blower, bilge pump work as normal.

If you don't have any Voltage at the BAT terminal of the key switch, try reseating the main harness connection.

If that is clean and tight, the only other potential cause is the 'bolt-together' connectors in the B+ lead...it should be within a couple of feet of the key switch and should be a shrink wrapped connection.

I finally found it. A 15amp fuse blown. That should have been the first place I looked. Still learning. I really appreciate your replies. Thanks

In defense of Baylitter, the wiring is pretty standard stuff across all manufacturers. When you build boats you are supposed to adhere to the government standards. These are determined by the ABYC, which is not a regulating body itself, but does write the rules. So, the wiring isn't anything you will find to be different than on any other similar boat.

That is good to know. Thank you very much. I must say that I have had my Binliner for 18 years from new. She has served me well - but now going up for sale.
