    2000 Mercruiser 5.0L (2000) sudden loud sound like wind tunnel or whirring from back of boat (engine or out drive)

    First run of season and ran at half throttle for 5 mins. All of a sudden, I hear this loud but dull sound throughout boat, mostly from back. Sound is like a wind tunnel or or whirring, almost like a loud hum (seems to come from engine compartment or out-drive). The temp gauge did not appear...
