    1971 18 hp evinrude

    just got this motor. it ran fine until it lurched and popped out of gear. went back in gear and popped back out, now wont go in gear. pulled lower unit off and the power shaft coming down the exhaust shaft spins free of the motor, is this normal? Help! lower unit seems to be working...
