    Mercruiser 454 cuts out at 3000 RPM

    Hi. I am new to this board and do not own a boat nor do I know much about them. My friend has a 42' Baja with triple 454's. All three run fine below 3000 RPM's. Once the middle motor hits 3000 it cuts out and sounds like it's sputtering. If he backs off the throttle it will run fine again...
