    Sorry for peppering responses here. I let it sit for about 6 hrs - just went out and it started right up. I'll try it again in the morning before I go to work. Usually when it sits overnight I have to go through the 10-15 minutes of cranking it before it pops.

    Hey racer. Yeah that's the thing - if I'm holding the key in it won't continually crank. Just turns the motor over for 1-2 seconds - then the starter disengages.
