    Ignition problems

    Hi I have a Mercruiser 5.7 1996 with EFI my problem is with the Delco EST pickup sensor. It has a copper shield over it and its loose. The sensor seems to be ok runs good but the cooper cover moves back and forth. Does any one know if this shield or cover is for and is it supposed to be tight?

    Ignition problems

    I have a 5.7 EFI mercruser with the Delco EST ignition. Im have problems at higher rpm it wants to backfire. I found the cooper metal ring under the rotor loose is that supposed to be that way. The boat is a 96 Mariah with EFI and ideas would be apricated
