    Merc 9.9 (2006) gas overflow

    The engine runs great with just the gas in the carb but a soon as I connect the gas line then gas comes streaming out the carb overflow and engine floods. I am assuming I have a stuck float or valve - so, is this a tear into the carb problem or is there something simple to try first?
