Is the driveshaft bushing that is located between the lower unit and the power head necessary? It caused me a tremendous amt. of pain when it corroded around the driveshaft and I could'nt remove the lower unit.
Any secrets to getting the lower unit off? I have removed it a # of times without difficulty to change the water pump. This year it won't budge! I have removed the 3 nuts on each side and the large one under the skeg.
