    Good idea, but I would be afraid to run the motor over 1,500 RPM on a garden hose. I was of the opinion that it cannot provide the proper volume of water needed to cool the motor. Am I wrong?

    Thanks, I have been looking into one that will work. I am hoping to find one that I can use with the cowling on the motor since I will be running ~4,000 RPM and do not want other boat wakes to splash on the motor.

    Sorry! Boat is a 2020 Hurricane Coastal Cruiser 231. Prop is the same, has not been changed or damaged.

    The boat is in saltwater (FL) Nov to May, and then freshwater Ohio river May thru November so it does not sit long unused.

    Last year the boat at 3000 RPM would hit 18-20 MPH. Nothing has been changed gear or prop wise, but now it has to run at 4000-4200 to get those speeds. NO codes on motor. Motor runs well and idles well. Starts easily. Same prop. New plugs, fuel filter, TPS and IAC since then. Roughly 1530 hrs...
