Excellent. Will do. I was going to put it near the tank end to keep the crud out of the rest of the line but it also makes sense to put it where you can monitor it when at the tiller. Thanks

I replaced the fuel filter under the cover and am thinking about putting an inline filter in the fuel line near the tank. There Was a bit of junk in the tank. Does anybody ever do that?

The fitting goes into the hose pretty easy with a small amount of heat gun, and a wee bit of spit. It softens up pretty good with the heat.

Yawh, changing the oil is more important than what kind. Like, whats the best toothbrush? Answer: The one you use. I have been using synthetic mostly these days. The local parts store has a good price so... Synthetic has better properties... I will use 10W-30 synthetic instead of 5W-30...

What's the bottom line on motor oil. They say the shops use 5W-30 synthetic now instead of 10W-30 standard. If that's the case, why not 10W-30 synthetic?

I will look on amazon for a threaded bottle pump. Thanks! The yammy fuel line is getting kinda stiff but it might still be flexible enough. I can soak it in seal swell too if needed. Excellent. Thanks

Setback number 9, I can't find the fuel tank and line. I suspect it got lost along the long move somewhere; choppers, boats warehouses... Are most Honda fuel lines 3/8". I have a Yamaha tank and line that I might be able to put to duty; I might be able to change the fitting on the motor end...

I found a bottle of Honda lower unit lube in my stuff but it doesn't have a fitting on the bottle. What kind of bottle or nozzle works for squirting it into the lower screw hole?

What kind of lube goes in the lower drive unit? I'm not sure what I might have around here. Can you use universal stuff or is it proprietary?

It must be a 2007 or newer; I don't see any problem with the phillips screws. My Phillips driver took them out without slippage. I'll see if I can find that troublesome hose. Thanks

I found a Fram PH6607 for $8 CAD on amazon, delivered tomorrow. The above cross reference lists it as a viable alternative. I know Fram gets pooped on in todays world but it will suffice for me. I'll buy a couple of them.

I see now. The cowling half has 5 screws and a pin holding it on. It has to come off to get the filter out so any style of filter wrench that fits the size will work.

Thanks. It's an older boat; I don't think the label lists a max HP. It has weight maximum etc.. We are going to slowly feed it into the water to see how it stands. There will be two of us so we can shift the weight distribution as required, if it's going to be feasible at all. This being a...

I hear you. I have a Harley too. Unless you gamble safety by cheaping out, things are pricey.

I finally figured out how to shut off auto fill on my phone. Sometimes I want to use slang. I don't want a machine telling me how to speak. AI is often wrong in search results too. It's the last thing I look at, if at all. I have designed a new formula that could challenge Einstein... AI=BS
