    Ok y'all, let me see if I can explain this so that it makes sense. When starting my '77 Johson 140hp outboard, I typically lift the choke, turn the key, and start the motor... simple. Sometimes the motor starts, I depress the choke lever, and the motor dies so I have to go through the process...

    Howdy guys, I'm sure this topic has come up before but I couldn't find anything that was quite the same situation. I have a 1977 johnson 140hp outboard and am having problems with the PTT. The engine tilts up just fine, I just can't seem to make it tilt down. Manual pressure release works...
