    Looking for a Neutral (9.8 hp Merc) 1981

    Using the gear lever in "shift" or elsewhere allows R or F but not N. If the prop is blocked in N you can't move the flywheel. With the lower unit on the bench, F and R are about a quarter turn of the gear rod apart, and N is right in the middle. What do I try next? Please help. terry
