    If we accidentally install the new stator incorrectly, 90 degrees off, would we burn out a winding? When the original stator was replaced I was not present, but was told that they THOUGHT it was in the correct position. The original and the replacement tested for an open winding across the blue...

    110 H.P. Mercury outboard has no spark to plugs. Ran the tests. Stator Blue wire to Blue/White tracer wire shows open winding. The replacement stator ohm's out the same. Blue wire to Blue/White tracer wire also shows open winding.Why?
