I'm currently restoring a 10 HP Johnson. And I'm having this one issue with the carburetor. The fuel leaks out the front. I don't know if I did the needle valves correctly and I'm thinking that's the issue. What's the correct way to install the needle valves and how much packing should I use?
I have a 1963 Johnson 5.5 CD-20 and whenever I prime the bulb the fuel moves up the line but when I stop priming, the fuel starts going backwards towards the tank. I took the bowl off the carburetor and it was bone dry even though the line from the filter to the carb is full. Any idea what is wrong?
