    2002 Mercury 40hp efi overheating alarm

    I have a 2006 Mercury 40hp EFI that sounds the overheat alarm > 3000rpm. The pump has been changed, the temp sensor has been changed but the problem still happens. This started after the old pump disintegrated. Is it possible pieces are still jammed somewhere that the mechanics have not reached?
