    mercruiser 898 starter stays engaged

    replaced starter and slave have good wiring from dash but when i turn the motor over it won't stop until i pull the battery cable. please help summer is getting shorter!!

    mercruiser 898 starting problems

    Just got a 898 that sat for 5 years. replaced starter and slave solenoid. checked all contacts one by one and when i engage the starter it stays engaged and keeps cranking with key off. only way to stop it is to pull battery cable. Please help summer is getting shorter.
