    1988 Johnson 40hp - J40ELCCS , ran great last 5yrs, stored in unheated pole barn this winter now no spark at either cylinder ! I bypassed 'idiot switch' on side of throttle/shift control , as plastic tab on coiled bungee(safety device) was broke. So i disassembled control box & removed that...

    88Johnson 40hp VRO -won't fire up-no spark at either plug ??

    My 1988 VRO 40hp Johnson won't start- ck'd motor 20a fuse-ok,all 12v connections@ battery-ok, starter spins but no spark @ either plug ! this motor has always fired up after winter storage with no problems...whats up ? Thanks for any assistance in advance !
