    Data link connection

    I have a 96 5.0FI. What I woul I have a 96 5.0FI. What I would like to do is get the codes from the computer. I bought the volvo penta code reader but it does not fit the ford connection. is there a way to jump the DLC to get the codes with a test light? DLC is ODB1 connection.

    "I am new to Volvo Penta motor "I am new to Volvo Penta motors. Here is my problem, When the motor starts it idles fine, but when I run it around 800 900 rpm it starts to surge, if go 1000 rpm or above it seem to smooth right out. I can actually see the butteryfly move in the throttle body...
