    2001 Mercury 225 hp Optimax 2 stroke has a knock, but runs OK

    The knock is slower at idle and increases in speed as the throttle is increased. Sounds like its coming from the power head, but to the untrained ear, it's hard to tell. How should I troubleshooting this?
