    Oil bypass valve on a mercruiser 3.0l

    Could someone help I have a Bayliner with a Mercruiser 3.0L inboard engine the oil bypass valve is missing I have identified it as 34543 part number. Waht does theis valve do and can you run the engine without it. Thanks
