    Stiff shifter arm on Honda 225 HP 2002

    I replaced the throttle remote controller and cables. When I remove the shifter cable at the engine, the shifting at the throttle handle is very smooth. When I move the shifter arm with pliers and with the cable removed it is very stiff. Any ideas please.
