    Replacing 8.1 aluminium exhaust manifold question

    I have had the dreaded water intrusion problem with my 2002 Mercruiser 8.1 375hp 496ci engines. Now I must replace the exhaust manifolds. My question is.... I have been thinking of replacing with heavier cast iron manifolds but I am wondering if there would be a problem of extra heat build up...
