    Model and serial number

    I have a 88 E-rude 150 and my model and serial number is on a tag that`s clearly stamped and is in the port side of the transom bkt. You might check there. The number you have maybe just a casting number for the engine and is pretty much useless when it comes to finding parts. Good Luck

    Engine sitting for many years. What to check?

    Id for sure check compression, do away with the VRO and use gas/oil mix. Since you just have the motor you shouldnt have to deal with the alarm when you put it on a boat. Since yours might need a new fuel pump anyways you can use a non/VRO pump and save yourself several bucks. My 88 E-rude 150...
