    2006 4 stroke 9.9 merc oil in carb

    I have a 2006 mercury outboard that just started giving me problems. Ran then smoked then nothing, pulled carb out and oil in it. Cleaned carb up put it back in, motor ran for a few minutes then nothing. Not a mechanic by trade but have done all my own work. Thinking piston ring is the issue...
