    Mariner 30 - Help identifying

    It is a 3 I found out. 689-L-302423. I finally found an owners manual. "This motor was built by Yamaha for Mercury and is mechanically identical to a 1979-1985 Yamaha model 30AE" So parts for that engine will work for this engine? Would this still be circa 1983? Thanks for your reply boscoe.

    Hi all, I am trying to find better information on an engine I have been given and you all seem pretty on to it! I am not sure if that last bit is a 7 or Z but i cannot find anything about it online. It seems to say Mariner 30AM 689 302427. Here are some images:
