    high duration reverse rotation cam

Well my correct craft is going to be in the shop for the rest of the season. I've got some bum stringers and a delaminating floor. So in between nightmarish grinding and cutting sessions I've been dreaming about listening to this girl idling in the water. I would love to hear a lopey cam sound...

78 318...edelbrock or not to edelbrock

I've got a fine running 318 that has the original afb carb on it. This motor is a replacement for a 360 truck engine that the previous owner had installed in this boat that could never get it to run..."why won't this start with the right hand rotation marine starter?". Any way this engine had an...

    lm 318 plumbing issues...

Ok, We've sorted out the riser gaskets. Thanks again Jeff. Now we are working out where the plumbing should go on our new engine. According to the osco book,Since my engine will sit at downward angle I should feed the exhaust manifolds from the the underside in the rear of the manifolds. This...

318 riser question (holes or no holes)

I'm still learning as I go here so any help would be appreciated. I've just bought a 318 to replace the motor in my boat. The motor I had in my boat was never ran due to the fact it was a failed attempt to turn an automotive engine into a marine engine. This is a raw water system. The engine I...

    Water in the Bell Housing

I've just purchased a 78 318 raw water cooled engine. I'm putting it a 20' correct craft and I'm using the transmission that came with the boat. The new engine came with a Paragon 21R on it. I pulled the transmission and it looks like a lot of hot water has been behind the engine. I had fired...

can you tell the rotation of an engine by the serial number

Heading out to buy the motor tomorrow! Its got a paragon transmission 1:1. Should I leave that on or switch it to the velvet drive I got with the boat? My dad being an old school big rig mechanic my feeling is if it's not an allison transmission borg warner is the next best thing.

can you tell the rotation of an engine by the serial number

I've purchased a chrysler powered correct craft. The guy I bought it from got it with a cracked block. Junked the original motor and tried to put in a truck motor not realizing the difference between a marine and automotive engine. The real kicker is that the boat is setup for a reverse...
