    The thermostat housing is hot and so is the hose from the water pump to the thermostat housing. I’m not sure about the manifold. ( I have the water pump off at the moment so cannot start the motor.) Although water gushes out when the hose is disconnected, it seems like it is not circulating...

    Thanks for your help. I have removed the thermostat and ran the motor with the thermostat removed to simulate a thermostat seized open. The motor still overheated with the thermostat removed.
