    how to remove armature plate from a 1969 johnson 40EHello

    Hello, I need some help in removing the armature plate(with points and coils)off my 69 Johnson 40 Electric.I have a clymer manuel,but their process doesn't make much sence or doesn't apply to the 69 40hp.I don't see any access holes to remove the retainer or plate it piviots on.
