    What year motor built?

    I have a 40hp, 4 cylinder Mercury with serial #0G048116. Anyone know how to determine what year it was made? My Clymer advises that serial numbers from 1994-1/2 begin with 0GO44027, but I can find no parts listings with that serial number OR my serial #. Thanks, in advance, to all who can help!
