    1975 Merc 402 40 hp how to start without controls

    I acquired a 1975 merc 402 40 I acquired a 1975 merc 402 40 hp outboard from my father-in-law. Unfortunately he was not able to get the controls for it. Is there any way to hot wire it so i can run it without the controls or do i need to locate some? Thanks
