    Rewind spring replacement?

    I have a Wards Sea King 9.2hp, model number VWB27909A. I installed a new rewind spring for my starter, but I can't seem to load the spring correctly. I tried installing it with no preload, and then I tried both a clockwise and counter clockwise preload wind, but neither would make the cord...
