    Mercruiser 228 Removing Shift linkage from lower unit housing

    I have 79 Mercruiser 228. I al I have 79 Mercruiser 228. I already have the lower unit off and now i am trying to remove the lower unit housing... I have removed the hinge pins... Now i have to remove the shift linkage and it takes a 9/16 open end wrench.. Once you get in there there is no way...
