    BF30 bogging down

    All of a sudden the engine bogs down a little above idle under load. In neutral, it does start to hesitate at much higher RPMs. I changed the plugs and filter. Fuel is good. Running some sea foam. Spark from each plug wire. Revs high and smooth with full choke. I have limited tools to check...

    I don’t live near my outboard and I was just sent a picture with a pool of oil under it. There weren’t many pics and I can’t tell where it’s coming from. Is this some prop seal failure or something worse. There wasn’t a leak when I left now it looks like something broke loose.

    BF30 t-stat stuck open?

    I had salt build up. I replaced impeller and thermostat. Did deep cleaning with salt away and descaler. Finally cleared the clogs and the pee stream is massively strong now. I’m not positive the thermostat isn’t stuck open. That doesn’t sound likely and I don’t think you can put them in...
