Is there a list somewhere on 50hp Mercury 2 stoke crossover parts over the years?

Yeah .... Did that already. Just wanted to know, from some experienced mechanic, if I was right about the time span of 1976 to 1985 and the crossover of parts.

Is there a list somewhere on 50hp Mercury 2 stoke crossover parts over the years?

I wish to buy a couple of older 50hp two stoke Mercurys, that are no longer appreciated by their current owners, so that I have a bank of spare parts on hand. Question on clearance when boring and honing a 50hp two stroke block.

I will be cracking it open next week. If the cylinders are blind, with no removeable cylinder head, then I need to find an outboard marine machine shop. That could be a challenge here in Southern Ontario.

Question on clearance when boring and honing a 50hp two stroke block.

Do you need a special boring bar and hone for a Mercury 50hp two stroke block? Is there a danger of crashing the boring bar into the lower saddle area of the block? Can you pass a hone straight through the whole length of the cylinders or will you run into an interference problem with the lower...
