    Pinion gear on pull cord issues

    Still having problems with pinion gear not engaging when I pull the rope, I have no clue as to what it could be, when I pull the cord the Pinion just spins, does not jump up into position, is something wore out, Do I need to replace something? Please help. Very aggravating

    How should the fit be between the spool and the bearing head? Mine seems Pretty sloppy line there should be a bushing in it there is probably .060 slop between the 2.

    I have a 72 9.5 model 9222m, having problems with The pinion gear not wanting to engage all the time when I pull the starter Rope, bought a new pinion but still had the same problem, nothing Is binding and all is free as it should be . Any ideas on the problem/ solution? Im baffled
