    Impeller question

    1986 Mercury inline 6 115 hp I've never done an impeller job. I've watched a YouTube video and Got additional tips on the MasterTech site. 1. How do I determine if I need a kit or just an impeller? 2. Should I always replace the gasket? Thanks,Jim

    I have an 86 inline 6 115 Hp Mercury on a Bayliner Capri 1700 and steering torque is severe.

    Steering torque is mild at 35 mph and severe over 40 mph. Adjustment of the trim tab didn't help much. Top speed is 50 mph. It has a single steering cable. Last season steering torque was mild to moderate above 40 mph.

    I have severe electrolysis damage below the water line on an 86 inline 6 115 Hp Mercury.

    The Trim tab is magnesium and it has severe pitting. If I use a wire brush on it will that improve it's effectiveness or do I need to replace it?
