    The Mercruiser spec for the electric fuel pump according to several sources that I found is 9-14 psi. I would expect that the float valve was designed to handle that pressure. If the orifice at the float inlet were 1/8th inch then 14 psi would exert 1/64th that pressure at the needle, or about...
