    1978 Mercury 70hp (Valve inlet seat question)

    Does the original inlet seat have a small rubber gasket INSIDE of it? I had two in my container after soaking and I am not sure where they came from. The only place they seem to fit is INSIDE of the seat that would be facing the inside of the carb that would snug up to the metal gasket you insert.

    So, I am in the process of basically rebuilding this motor. New sparks, spark wires, ignition coils and switch box and fuel lines. Finally went to start it up and it fired up! Super pumped. Now.... I noticed water coming from the spark plugs, pretty badly. What is the cause and fix? Thanks...

    Throttle shaft doesn't return by itself on carb after cleaning. 1977 70hp 3cyl.

    Not sure if missed something or installed wrong, but I throttled up on throttle (motor off) and the throttle shaft will increase but doesn't return by itself to the neutral position. Maybe the spring is not connected right? Or do I need to grease the throttle shaft after cleaning? I never...
