    Last two question Should this engine have the carb cover on ? It was missing when I got it. I have a little plastic piece on the inlet of my carb like a Venturi ? I have not seen In any other carb videos

    Got ya, yes I guess if a reed was bad it would spit fuel out of the carb

    I got ya, I seen the little arm come over to the top of the magneto. Thank you I I'm understanding more about this now First boat and never worked on a outboard in my life. Does this engine have reed valves ? And I'm assuming I need 100 plus psi of cylinder pressure

    OK I'm gonna try and pull carb this weekend. Should the butterfly open as your giving throttle? Or wait till WOT?

    OK thank you I was going to get a rebuild kit for the carb Can I get and should I get a rebuild kit for the fuel pump too And is there anyway to make sure I have the right jets in Carb ? And that's me assuming it's like a snowmobile or atv carb I've never touched one before Thanks

    Hi New member brand new to boats! I have a mid to late 80s mercury 25 xd. At WOT while on plane or running on muffs the engine will bog, if I'm looking in carb opening as I approach WOT the butterfly will open and fuel will pour from around the Ventures and engine bogs will cause boat to nose...
