    Solved. The back tab on the distributor that holds the cap is broken, not holding the cap down.

    Good day Been following the forums for a long time, and appreciate all the info here. I have run into something I have found in my search. I have a merc 383 MPI 1600 hrs. Not sure of the serial, forgot the year, but an educated guess is about 6 years. Problem - the boat randomly stalls...
