    Intake has small black plastic pieces in it?

    I have a Mariner 30 hp outboard. I know it’s had a little water intrusion in the lower unit. While I was investigating, I took off the intake vents and found a bunch of little broken black plastic pieces. I haven’t taken apart the gear case yet, but are there other ideas what this would be from?
