    Thanks for the responses folks. You have given me some things to look into. I'm go to hold off on ordering any parts for now. The Honda is winterized right now... I'll get the motor back in the barrel once the weather permits.

    FYI I recently had the carbs rebuilt and synced. Also replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter at the same time. The motor starts first crank, idles and runs smoothly when I’m motoring short distances (1/4 to 1/2 mile) at slow speed (5MPH). The problem is after running under load at higher RPM...
